I used to feel lost in the mechanical rhythm of urban life. Each day was a monotonous grind, exhausting and consumed by endless tasks and relentless competition. The cold indifference among city dwellers left me feeling isolated and disconnected. While industrialization and urbanization brought convenience, they also stripped away the purity of nature. I felt like an NPC in a pre-programmed "life simulation game," trapped in a repetitive loop with no escape.
In 2011, when Steve Jobs passed away, a friend shared the news with me as Bob Dylan’s "Blowin’ in the Wind" played on the radio. That moment felt surreal, as if a brilliant star had fallen from the sky. For days, I was overwhelmed by a deep sense of loss and confusion. One morning, standing in front of the mirror, I recalled Jobs’ famous question: “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I’m about to do today?” When my answer was “No,” I realized it was time for a change.
I turned to nature in search of answers. It was then that I embarked on a journey of exploration, seeking the true meaning of life.

In honor of my idol, Steve Jobs.
His wisdom and spirit sparked the inspiration that became the foundation of AURA DEER.
From the forests of Germany to the snowy peaks of Switzerland, and from the art of France to the lakes of Canada, I traveled the world, In 2023, I traveled to the northwest of China, where I traced the path of Buddhism’s spread—from ancient India, in what is now northern India and Nepal, through Central Asian regions such as Bactria and Sogdia, and then into China’s Xinjiang, Gansu, and eventually the inland regions. The breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage left me in awe, especially the Buddhist murals at the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang and the intricate Thangka art of Tibet, which captivated me with their timeless beauty and spiritual wisdom.
As I studied these artworks, I discovered their deep roots in Buddhist teachings, which profoundly enriched my life. Through mindfulness meditation, I gradually overcame anxiety and depression, finding peace and clarity within myself. I learned that true freedom comes from awakening through self-exploration and understanding.
This transformative journey inspired me to share the strength and wisdom I gained from Buddhist art and philosophy with others, helping those who feel lost or overwhelmed find healing and solace.
I founded Aura Deer, inspired by the nine-colored deer, a symbol of the Buddha’s past life representing kindness, honesty, courage, and compassion. This sacred figure embodies the belief that everyone can discover their true self and inner peace through exploration and practice.
At the heart of Aura Deer is a mission to preserve Buddhist culture and art while promoting physical and mental healing. Our products are meticulously handcrafted, making them not just daily companions but also spiritual amulets that offer blessings for safety, prosperity, and good fortune. They provide comfort and protection amidst the busyness of modern life.
Through our craftsmanship and the wisdom of Buddhist art, we aim to foster healing and connection, bridging the gap between people and nature, and between individuals and their inner selves. With Aura Deer, I aspire to integrate the beauty of Buddhist art and philosophy into modern living, helping others find inner peace and freedom through mindfulness and self-exploration.
