MALA
To keep your mala beads in their best condition, regular care and gentle handling are essential.
1. Moisturizing the Beads
Occasionally apply a small amount of natural oil (such as mineral oil or an oil of your choice). Rub a pea-sized amount between your hands—add a drop of essential oil if you like—and gently massage it into the beads. In dry climates, you may need to do this every few months; otherwise, once a year is usually enough. Over time, your natural beads will darken, which is a normal and beautiful reminder of your practice and growth.
2. Understanding Your Mala
Each mala is hand-strung with care by artisans. Some designs are made for durability, while others are more decorative. Larger beads usually have larger holes, which can allow for stronger cord threading. Keep in mind that gemstone beads are heavier than wood or seed beads, which may affect daily wear.
3. Protecting the Cord and Beads
Everyday exposure to soaps, lotions, oils, or sweat can gradually wear down both natural beads and cords. Even synthetic cords may weaken when exposed to frequent moisture. To extend the life of your mala, remove it before bathing, swimming, or engaging in activities where it may get wet. With regular use, some malas may eventually require restringing—this is a natural part of their life cycle.
4. Cleaning
If cleaning is necessary, gently wash your mala in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap. Pat dry with a soft cloth, then hang to finish drying completely.
By caring for your mala beads with intention, you not only extend their life but also deepen your connection to them as a tool for meditation and mindfulness.
Our bracelets are made with stretchable elastic cords, so they fit most wrist sizes. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us via email.

How to Choose a Mala
The best way to choose a mala is to begin with your intention. Reflect on what you hope to cultivate in your life—whether it’s healing, clarity, protection, or another focus.
Once you’ve set your intention, consider the practical details such as size, materials, and design. Each gemstone is traditionally associated with certain energies, so you may be drawn to a stone that naturally aligns with your goals.
To make the search easier, you can use the filters in our Collection to narrow down by material, style, or purpose.
Above all, trust your intuition. Choose the mala—or wrist mala—that feels right to you, resonates with your spirit, and supports your journey.
